Jennifer Teehan
Founder

Jen is the vision, leadership, and driving force behind AlchemList. Her years of experience in the non-profit world, first as an AmeriCorps, then as an intern and now as an employee of a local 501(c)3 have shown her the immeasurable impact these organizations can have on those they serve and their surrounding communities. She also brings a strong belief in sustainability, environmentalism, and efficient reuse of everyday items. Once upon a time she earned her Economics degree at the University of Virginia. She puzzles over how to bridge the gap between apparently unlimited needs and wants and apparently equally limited resources while at the same time believing that when we talk about maximizing profit, that profit is not just measured in dollars and cents. When not working on AlchemList or for the local non-profit, Jen enjoys trail running, yoga, reading with a cat curled up on her lap, and trips to the farmers market.

Joshua is the architect, designer, and programmer of the AlchemList website and service. He works closely with Jennifer to turn AlchemList's vision and mission into a functioning and engaging online product. He is also instrumental in investigating and implementing new and exciting technologies while keeping the existing ones robust and secure. He brings over 8 years of professional technology experience to AlchemList. He has served as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, the lead programmer at EducationToGo, and the Vice President of Technology of Gatlin Education Services. Prior to his professional experience, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Richmond.

Star's boundless energy, constant enthusiasm, and laser focus serve as a constant reminder of what makes life worth living. Whether it be chasing her favorite tennis ball for hours on end or in hiding our shoes and socks, Star is a loving companion and source of joy. Her presence at AlchemList HQ keeps the staff on their toes and (as anyone who has worked with border collies knows) in very good shape. While she was technically rescued by us, we are the ones that will always be thankful to her.
